Setting up 2nd call in Microsoft Teams
If you are in a call or meeting and someone calls you, you will see a new call as something new. You can decide whether to accept the new call or reject it.
Within the settings in Teams, there is an option to change that setting.
Setup on PC
1. Click on the 3 dots to the left of your images/initials (1).
2. Click on "Settings"(2), then select "Call" in the left menu.3. Then select "Call" in the menu on the left.
When you are on a call and receive another call
In the section "When you are in a call and receive another call" you must now choose how Teams should handle call no. 2.
If you have the English version of Teams, "When you receive a call" is under the "Calls" menu
If you access Teams via the Web, the menu looks like the one below
Can´t find the menu item?
If you in the point above "When you receive a call" have chosen "also call a new number or a new contact" - then you cannot choose what should happen with your call number 2 yourself (the menu item disappears).
If you’d like to know when someone in Teams changes their status to Available or Offline, you can add them to your status notifications list either through a previous chat or in settings. Read more here
Call History
You can see all incoming/outgoing calls in the overview to the right of the keyboard in Teams. Opposite each person, there are 3 dots (…) When clicking on the dots, a small menu with additional options will appear.
It is easy to create new contact groups
- Open ‘Microsoft Teams’ on your device
- Click on the phone in the menu on the left. Then click on ‘Calls’ in the top
- On the right, you will see ‘Call groups’. To create a new list, click on ‘+’
- Give the list a name and click on ‘Create’
- Scroll down on the right to find your new call group. You can add more people to the list by clicking on the three … next to the call group name
You can add contacts to your contact group. In Skype for Business, you could also add an distribution list – this is not an option in Teams.

- Click on "Chat"
- Select the arrow to the right of ‘Chat’ and select Contacts

Contacts
When selecting "Calls” – a list of suggested contacts will appear - you may delete those contacts if you want.
If you have contacts who you call frequently, you can add them to your “speed dial” list.
Deleting Contacts
When you have been transferred to Teams after this weekend, it is easy to click the 3 dots (…) and delete the contacts that the program suggest.
If you receive a call while you’re in a meeting. You will then receive a message in your ’History’ in Microsoft Teams. If the person creates a voicemail, you will then receive it in Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
Missed calls will after 20 secs. automatically go to voicemail. If you are offline in Teams and you don’t use ‘Simultaneous ring’, calls will go directly to voicemail.

To set up your voicemail
Please click on ’More settings’ to set up your voicemail. You will also be able to redirect your calls to another phone number.
If you miss a call- e.g. because you are in a meeting - you’ll get a message in your “Call History” in Teams. Please note that you’ll not receive an email notification.
If you receive a message in your voicemail, you’ll receive a notification in both Outlook and Teams.
