Toastmaster for Windows

In the interest of flexibility and speed, SDU IT has created a new script for handling programme updates on all machines running Windows.

The programme checks the Software Center for new versions of the programmes installed on the machine.

Toastmaster checks twice a day at different times. The timing is different from machine to machine.

If Toastmaster finds an update and the programme has not been started, it will update it without any further information for you. When the programme is updated, a small ‘toast’ will appear, indicating that the programme has been updated.

However, if the programme is open, a ‘toast’ will appear in the bottom corner that looks like this:

You have two options.
1. ‘Open Software Center’ and you can then install as usual.
2. ‘Remind me later’. If you click on this option, nothing more will happen until the next check. You can postpone the installation five times. Since Toastmaster carries out checks twice a day, you have three days to find a quiet moment to update the programme.

If you have not updated before this time, the programme will close and update as usual.
