Do you need to invite external users to your SharePoint?

If you need to add external users (people without an SDU account), they can only be invited using their e-mail address.

You can share a single file or an entire folder with others via SharePoint. In addition, you can share an entire SharePoint site with external users. As for the SharePoint site, these users can only be invited if they have a Microsoft account.

To share with external users, you need to do the following:

1.  Find the share logo next to the file or folder in question.

 

 

2.  Then enter the email addresses of the users with whom you want to share the site, file or folder. In the Options section, you can choose which rights to assign to the external users.

3.  Once you have entered the relevant email addresses and selected which rights to assign to them, click Share. The users will then receive an email with a link to access the shared items.
