Study Start 2017 at the Faculty of Science
"Oink - oink". Those were the only words the mysterious peacock (pavo tutori) had on his mind. Even on a day when 464 expectant new students were bid well and truly welcome to the Faculty of Science by our always well-organised student counsellors and by Dean Martin Zachariasen. The Dean spoke about dreams and enthusiasm, while 61 resher reps delivered a show that was fit for the Eurovision Song Contest stage. The Mayor of Odense, Peter Rahbæk Juel, welcomed the new students to the capital city of Funen in a 2-minute video - perhaps already in the spirit of the upcoming local elections with the interesting statement: "Community is something we give to each other".
And that peacock. Newsletter reporters tried in vain to get a meaningful interview with the feathered animal, but the editors decided just before the deadline that an account of this year's Study Start could also be given in pictures:
