Expansion of the Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Institute

The first month of the year has quickly come to an end, and the construction schedule indicates February.

Newsletter January

At the same time as the start of studies in February, the construction and nearby paving work continue at a rapid pace. The large tent over and around the construction site has proven its worth after a very wet and windy January, and has been of great benefit to the interior work as well as the work on the roof.

There is still a strong focus on the interior work, which will continue more or less until the building is delivered and put into use. Both carpenters and installers have moved up to the next floor and are continuing their work. In addition, the workers inside are gradually getting ready for the painter to start on the first floors in the coming month.

The number of people on site remains consistently around 40-45, so the individual floors and the exterior around the building are filled up. TC Anlæg has expanded the parking options, so private cars now use the parking lot north of Building 42, which is also why we are more visible around the classrooms than before.

January has also focused on the large glass facade on the south gable, which is being worked on meticulously so that the facade can quickly approach its final appearance. The facade of the building must fit in with the rest of the campus and will therefore also have a beautiful corten steel facade.

There has also been a strong focus on the work on the roof so that the building can soon be unpacked and show its true self. When the tent is packed away, work will quickly continue on the facade, and the outside of the building will quickly take shape.

The construction site also had a visit from the Danish Working Environment Authority in January, which had a good positive response and no remarks!

The paving work north of Building 33 (the current Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Institute) is also ongoing, which will result in difficulty for bicycle parking in the coming period.

Noisy work in the near future:

  • General – Use of plate vibrator, v. building 44 and in the construction pit.
  • General – Drilling in the basement wall, building 44.
