The new Deputy Director of Studies will be responsible for the study administrative tasks in the Central Administration as from 1 January 2024. The Deputy Director of Studies will have an important role in the further transition of the study administration at SDU. The Deputy Director of Studies will be responsible for SDU Student Services in the Central Administration and will report to the Pro-Rector.

In the autumn, the position of Deputy Director of Studies was advertised, with an application deadline of 23 October. A broad and strong field of applicants has testified to the great interest in the position.

An employment committee consisting of Helle Waagepetersen (pro-rector), Thomas Buchvald Vind (university director), Per Boisen (head of division, Student Services), Merete Munk (head of administration, Faculty of Health Sciences), Ditte Bjerrisgaard Bundesen (head of communications, SDU Communications) and Christian Bilde Dannevang (union representative and administrative officer, SDU Digital) has, with support from the consultancy firm Genitor, conducted interviews with applicants for the position.

Study administration is complex and requires collaboration

SDU's new Deputy Director of Studies will focus on the importance of collaboration if we are to succeed with study administration:

'Study administration embraces the student's entire educational journey and is so complex that it requires strong collaboration between all actors, regardless of where you are in the organisation. We are now in the process of developing this collaboration further, as we have begun preparations for a very comprehensive replacement of STADS with a new system, which will be purchased in collaboration with six other universities. I will work to ensure that we get a system where students, administrative staff and lecturers experience unified and user-friendly digital support for the study administration,' says Stinne Hørup Hansen.
