SDU Digital gets new services page

After months of work and an intense final spurt, SDU Digital recently launched its new services page.

The services page presents SDU Digital’s core service offerings and news from the digital world. You can find the page here https://sdunet.dk/servicesider/digital.

SDU Digital's range of services has been steadily increasing since the unit was launched on 1 April 2020. SDU Digital currently provides services within project management and governance, IT development and optimisation of administrative processes, data protection and information security, IT architecture and system management. In addition, SDU Digital supports the development of SDU's digital skills and capabilities as well as the University's green transition.

Until now, SDU IT and SDU Digital have shared a common services webpage. To avoid making the webpage unnecessarily confusing for users, the two areas now have their own pages.

Bue Raun Andersen, Head of Digitalisation, explains the reasoning behind the choice of an independent services page: 'As signalled by the sunny yellow colour of the services page, we at SDU Digital want to meet the organisation with warmth and energy. However, this clashed with the fact that our partners around the University sometimes found it difficult to find the relevant information. Firstly, we had not yet described all of our service offerings, and secondly, the information tended to be drowned out by the important information that SDU IT provides about operational statuses, support etc. We hope the split into two separate pages has remedied that.'

Two people who have already closely examined SDU Digital's new services page are Rune Nørgaard Jørgensen and Louise Toftgaard Fibiger from the Faculty of Humanities. About the services page, they say: 'It has a lot of great content that we didn't know where to find before. It has become clearer to us in the organisation what role SDU Digital plays at SDU, what the interfaces are and what specific services SDU Digital offers. We see a great and unified universe that will allow employees involved in IT and digitalisation projects at SDU to better prepare themselves'.

The services page has been developed by SDU Digital's internal communications team, assisted by SDU Communications and colleagues from the SDU Digital team. The team consists of one representative from each of the three departments: Kristoffer Sehestedt Pinholt (Design), Natalie M. Olsen (Compliance) and Birgitte Hjelm Paulsen (Transformation). SDU Digital's Chief Secretary Louise Thorbek Andersen served as coordinator. Birgitte is full of praise for the result of the communications team's efforts: 'I'm very proud of the overall look of the services page, which is both beautiful and solid... and I hope that our 'customers' across the organisation find it easy to locate useful knowledge and information on the site.'

The services page will be under continuous development. For example, the PMO is planning user testing of the project organisation pages at SDU. The communications team appreciates it when users submit requests for new information and suggestions on how to make existing information even more useful and accessible.
