Thefts on Nyt SUND

Unfortunately, there have been several thefts at Nyt SUND recently.

It is completely understandable that the thefts give rise to great frustration and insecurity for employees and students who move around the area on a daily basis.

Of course, the management takes the situation very seriously, and we have therefore launched several initiatives to help restore security and prevent continued theft.

Specifically, we have set up a group with management representatives for relevant areas at the university, who coordinate and handle the situation in close dialogue with the police.

All thefts are thus continuously registered and reported to the police, so that they can form part of the police's overall investigation of the thefts.

At Nyt SUND, a special digital key is used everywhere, which leaves a trace in the locks in which the key is used. Information about the keys used is made available for the police's investigation of the thefts. In the future, we will also take the initiative to ensure that keys are handed over to the right owner. At the same time, we will review and tighten the procedure for handing over keys so that keys do not end up in the wrong hands. More information will be provided about key delivery in the near future.

In order to keep an eye on unauthorized traffic at Nyt SUND, we plan to set up video surveillance at selected locations at the entrances and walkways. In areas with video surveillance, there will be signs with information about surveillance. There will be more information about video surveillance in the future.

Finally, we have asked the security company G4S to make more rounds at Nyt SUND.

We hope that the initiatives can help to prevent further thefts, so that everyone at Nyt SUND can have a safer everyday life. If necessary, we will take further measures.

In the coming time, we will follow up with further information about the development and initiatives at Nyt SUND.
