The Occupational Health and Safety Office has produced a guide on the layout of screen workplaces. The guide can be used both in the work of the health and safety group and to assist with working holistically and systematically in the prevention of ergonomic strain, but is also for individual use and assistance.

Branchearbejdsmiljørådet for Privat Kontor og Administration (an industry health and safety council for private offices and administration) has also prepared a leaflet that provides guidance on how to properly set up your screen workspace to avoid muscle and joint discomfort: ‘Working at a computer’ (only in Danish).

COWI has prepared a leaflet that offers brief instructions on correct working positions, layout of the workplace, correct lighting conditions, etc. Read the instructions here: ‘Ergonomics and screen work – in brief’ (only in Danish).

Inspiration for laying out a screen workspace from dr: ‘How to set up your IT workplace’ (only in Danish).

For employees who have a mobile office and who often work with a laptop for longer periods of time, here are some pointers for the correct working posture to avoid discomfort and pain: ‘Beware of the laptop and other good advice’ (only in Danish).

Former employee of the University of Southern Denmark, Physiotherapist Else Marie Holm-Jørgensen has prepared a number of good suggestions for the proper use of keyboard and mouse and instructions for establishing the right posture:

At SDU you can be provided with several kinds of digital work tools. The choice of digital work tools is based on the tasks you have to perform, but it can be difficult to figure out what you should choose.

Therefore, in collaboration with COWI, which is the University’s ergonomic occupational health and safety adviser, SDU has prepared a guide to the ergonomically correct use of digital work tools. The guide advises you on what to consider when choosing a digital work tool and how best to use these to reduce ergonomic discomfort.

As a health and safety group, you can help create the optimal framework for your colleagues by reviewing the layout of their office workplace in collaboration with new and established colleagues. This checklist, which has been prepared by the Occupational Health and Safety Office, can be used to help with the review: ‘Check your office workplace’ (only in Danish).
