Lionel Tarassenko is Professor of Electronic Engineering at Oxford University and his work has had a significant impact on biomedical engineering. He is a world-leading expert in the application of signal processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning for healthcare. He is also the author of more than 300 journal articles, 240 conference papers, 3 books and 32 issued patents with an H-index of 89 (according to Google Scholar).
