The title of Teacher of the Year 2024 goes to Associate Professor Eva Bang Harvald from the Faculty of Science.
Eva teaches courses such as Fundamental Cell Biology and Cellular Evolution. The students describe Eva as attentive and with a fantastic academic commitment. She makes a point of supporting the students’ independent critical thinking, and she develops various initiatives that support students’ academic commitment outside of scheduled classes (e.g. via ‘pre-lectures’ and ‘exam café’).
She is good at creating a relaxed atmosphere and takes an explorative and playful approach to using different teaching formats.
Eva has created her own advisory board of students with whom she discusses her many different development initiatives and ideas.
Finally, she frequently includes cases from the biotech industry in her teaching and co-ordinates company projects and networking events for students, researchers and local biotech companies.
