The corridors in the new HEALTH building have been named

Gydehutten, Stenten, Vangene og Knoldene. The corridors on SDU's Campus Odense initially have some strange names.

But there is an explanation. They come from old place names in the area where the university is located today.

In order to create continuity with the rest of campus, the corridors in the new faculty building have also been named with roots in the area's nature and cultural history - they will be called:

• Skoven
• Marken
• Tveden
• Toften
• Forten (Forten N and Forten S)

Side corridors in the building

Just as the names of the side corridors that run east-west through the building are deliberately chosen, so is the order of names.

The order of names from north to south means that you move:

• from nature in Skoven
• over the cultivated areas Marken and Tveden (a clearing)
• to the settlement Toften (plot of land set aside for development)
• and Forten (common area in the center of the village)

Main entrances and main corridor in the building

As the map above shows, the new faculty building connects to SDU's existing road network at Stenten. The entrance here will be called Stenten S.

The entrance at the southern end of the building, which we share with OUH, will be called Koblingen.

From Stenten S at the northern end of the building to Koblingen at the southern end runs the building's main corridor, which has been named Aksen.

The name Aksen falls slightly outside the model, but it is taken from and is a slightly modified version of the name used in the vision work, Vidensaksen. The same applies to the name of the southernmost entrance, Koblingen.
