Fewer guests to Open House on 26 February

At Campus Odense, the Open House was held with a good atmosphere among guests, students, researchers and lecturers. However, there was a significant decrease in the number of guests compared to 2020.

A total of 1761 visited SDU Odense, which is a decrease of 43 percent.

Susan Traun from SDU Student Services is project manager for Open House, and she lists several possible reasons for the low number of visitors:

– It may be because some people are still worried about Covid-19. One reason may also be that Aarhus University held its u-days the same day. But it may also be because we are starting to really see that we are affected by decreasing youth cohorts in the region, says Susan Traun.

Outreach Coordinator at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, Lilian Skytte, did not experience a decrease in the number of visitors to the Open House at the Faculty of Science:

– It was great to be able to meet the applicants face to face again, and they had many good questions. In particular there were many questions about combinations with minor subjects. In terms of number of guests, I think we were on level with 2020. Our guided tours all had around 40 participants, and our stands were well visited all day, says Lilian Skytte.
