How to handle waste in the new HEALTH building

In the new faculty building trash cans in offices will no longer be used. Like the rest of SDU, they will be replaced by common waste stations in corridors and common areas.

The Faculty of Science has run a pilot project on waste sorting at SDU. Here, trash cans in offices were removed and replaced with common waste stations where multiple fractions could be sorted.

The solutions tested in the pilot project are now being extended to the rest of Campus Odense as part of SDU's climate plan.

This means that we at the Faculty of Health Sciences also have to handle our waste in a different way than we do today when we move to the new faculty building on campus.

The specific plan for waste sorting in the new building has been developed in close collaboration between Technical Service and the faculty, where experiences from Green Lab and others have also played a role.

The plan includes an overview of types of waste stations and an overview of where the different stations will be placed.

Siden Nyt SUND blev designet, er det sket tilpasninger på SDU, som har reduceret behovet for kopirum. Det betyder, at 4 kopi/depotrum i Nyt SUND på henholdsvis 1. og 2. etage bliver omdannet til affaldsrum.

Rummene er placeret tæt på laboratorierne i den vestlige side af bygningen, hvor de skal understøtte affaldssortering fra laboratoriegangene.

Rengøringsfirmaet ISS sørger for, at al affald fra 1. og 2. sal kommer ned i de store affaldsrum på terræn, hvorfra det bliver afhentet af Marius Pedersen.
