Relocation to New SUND: Practical Information

Trash cans in your offices in New SUND will not be emptied.
You need to go to the waste stations and sort the waste yourself.

Connection of coffee machines is pending the establishment of water supply and electricity.

There are electric kettles in all kitchens, so instant coffee can be purchased and prepared.

The canteen in WP19 closed before the summer holiday and will not reopen.

The canteen service at Forten in New SUND will start around the beginning of the semester.

Additionally, there are canteen and canteen services at Stenten and at Gydehutten.

As a default setting, the lighting in a room is regulated automatically.

This means that when there is sufficient daylight, the ceiling lights closest to the window will turn off first, followed by those further into the room.

When there is ample daylight throughout the room, the ceiling lights won't turn on.

You can check if the lighting is functioning by holding the socket switch for 3 seconds and then pressing the switch again. This will adjust the light intensity.

The meeting rooms will be made available for booking in Outlook as they are completed with furniture and AV equipment.

This will happen during August 2023. However, the first rooms will not be available for booking until week 34.

Also, please note:

• All AV equipment may not be reliably installed in the meeting rooms by the start of the semester.
  Here is an overview of priorities regarding which meeting rooms will be equipped with AV equipment first.

• In certain meeting rooms, the acoustic setup might not be in place. The issue will be addressed, and any challenges will be indicated in notices posted in the meeting room."

Meeting rooms have been set up in the former teaching rooms "WP25-104" and "WP25-108.

The meeting rooms are available for booking through Outlook.

There is room for 36 people in each meeting room.

At present, keys for New SUND only grant access to one's own institute/department.

However, this will be changed, so the starting point will be access to all offices for all employees at SUND.

This change will occur once an overview of exceptions has been established and will involve reconfiguring existing cylinders, but not keys that have already been issued.

Whiteboards, notice boards, and other items that are nailed/screwed in place and that you won't be reusing in New SUND can be left in the buildings. Technical Service will remove them when SDU hands over the buildings to BYGST.

Larger furniture that won't be taken to New SUND will also be removed by Technical Service. Make a collective inquiry to us via email at 8866@sdu.dk.

You are responsible for removing all loose items yourself.

In New SUND, notice boards and whiteboards should not be directly hung on the wall but rather on a so-called PO rail using specific brackets.

Technical Service has been informed that the notice boards and whiteboards in WP are in a condition that doesn't allow for the installation of brackets behind them for mounting on PO rails.

As a result, new whiteboards have been purchased, but only for the common meeting rooms and group rooms for which Technical Service is responsible for equipping.

Permanently mounted notice boards and whiteboards on the walls in your offices should remain in WP, as we do not permit boards to be screwed onto walls on Campusvej.

If you determine that you need notice boards and whiteboards in your new office, SUND must procure them independently. Technical Service does not handle this.

There is exterior sun shading on the east, south, and west-facing facades in New SUND.

The shading is controlled automatically, but to some extent, it's possible to adjust the sun shading manually if you find that the sunlight is too intense or the office becomes too warm.

For instance, it might be a good idea to lower the sun shading when you leave in the afternoon to prevent the office from heating up either in the afternoon/evening or in the morning, depending on the location.

Please note that there are currently issues with the manual operation of the sun shading. The issue is being addressed.

Unless it involves very specific deliveries related to the move, where you can be present at New SUND to receive them, all packages should be delivered to our central receiving area.
