The New HEALTH Building
To the new HEALTH building by bike, tram, and car
When the new HEALTH building is put into operation from August 2023, you have ample opportunity to get there, whether you choose to take the bike, tram, or car.
With protected forest on both sides, the new HEALTH building serves as a bridge between the existing SDU and the New OUH.
While the forest provides a beautiful setting, it also means that you cannot park your car right next to the new faculty building.
On the other hand, you can get very close using the tram, and there are excellent bike paths and bicycle parking facilities that take you right up to the entrances of the new construction.
Below, you will find information about transportation to and parking at the new HEALTH building.
Bicycle parking around the HEALTH building
In connection with new HEALTH building, 500 bicycle parking spaces will be established, of which approximately 300 will be covered.
They will be located at:
- The main entrance to the faculty building, situated where the building connects to the existing SDU. This entrance is called Stenten S.
- The main entrance to the linking building, which is the building connecting faculty building with New OUH. This entrance is called Koblingen.
- The decentralized entrances under the faculty building. These entrances are named Marken, Tveden, Toften, Forten N.
Bicycle paths around the HEALTH building
When the new HEALTH building is put into use, it will be possible to reach it via different cycling routes.
- On the west side, you can come from the north along the existing bicycle paths and continue on the newly constructed paths under the building to the covered bicycle parking spaces.
- On the east side, you can come from the existing supercycle path along the tram and continue on the newly constructed paths under the building to the covered bicycle parking spaces.
- The supercycle path alongside the tram will be connected to a newly constructed bicycle path underneath the new HEALTH building, which runs along Killerup Rende towards Munkebjergvej. The bicycle path will open during the summer of 2023.

If you arrive at the new HEALTH building by car, you can use one of the 8 SDU parking spaces available around the university.
It is estimated that the established parking facilities will provide enough space, even when the new faculty building is put into use.
If, contrary to expectations, there are too few spaces, an additional 200 to 400 spaces can be quickly established. Two additional parking spaces are ready to be ordered when necessary.
If challenges arise with spaces being used by non-SDU staff/students, it is possible to activate a system with license plate recognition.

The tram stops at two locations near the new HEALTH building:
- The main entrance to the new HEALTH building, located where the faculty building connects to the existing SDU.
- The main entrance to Koblingsbygningen, which connects the faculty building to Nyt OUH.
