Biodiversitet

Contribute to creating a University with more biodiversity

In the coming months, a new initiative will collect and process proposals to increase biodiversity on the University of Southern Denmark’s campuses. The management will select and prioritise initiatives among the proposals. Both students and staff can now submit proposals.

SDU’s climate plan 2022–2024 includes a biodiversity initiative that will contribute to creating better conditions for biodiversity on the campuses of the University of Southern Denmark.

Therefore, a catalogue of ideas must be prepared for SDU’s management, who will ultimately decide which proposals will be carried out.

‘We are facing the very significant task of transforming the University into becoming even more climate-friendly in the coming years. This entails a number of initiatives. Biodiversity is an important part of our overall climate plan, and I am very much looking forward to further developing the good ideas from our employees, students and other stakeholders,’ says University Director Thomas Buchvald Vind.

Big or small, practical or pretty

All employees and students have until 1 July to come up with an idea that will benefit the environment and biodiversity. If you are not directly affiliated with SDU, it is possible to be listed as a stakeholder and have the idea catalogue sent for comment.

There is room for all suggestions, whether it is to have more wild flowers on the grasslands, a new research project or educational settings out in nature.

On 15 August from 9.00 to 12.00, a workshop for students and staff at the University of Southern Denmark will take place. At the workshop, the participants will further develop the proposals received before the final catalogue of ideas is compiled.
