Holidays

Accrual of holiday

You earn concurrent holiday, which means that you earn 2.08 days of holiday each month, which you can take the following month or save up for a longer holiday.

The main rule is that in the period from 1 September to 31 August, you earn a total of 25 days of holiday. You can take these in the period from 1 September to 31 December the following year. This means that the holiday period extends over 16 months whereas the accrual period is 12 months.

Example: Your employment begins on 1 March 2024, which means that you begin your holiday accrual of 2.08 holiday days per month. As early as 1 April 2024, you have the option to take your 2.08 days of holiday, but you are also welcome to save your holiday days and take them later in the year.

Example: Your employment begins on 1 August 2024, which means that you earn 0.42 special holiday days up to and including December, which is a total of (0.42 days x 5 months) 2.1 special holiday days that must be taken in the period 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2026.
