Random Mixtures can be DANGEROUS


Some chemicals shouldn't be mixed together. In fact, these chemicals shouldn't even be stored near each other on the chance that an accident could occur and the chemicals could react.  Some examples of mixtures to avoid can be found on various websites eg incompatible chemical mixtures.

Mercury, halogens, hypochlorite and hydrofluoric acid.

Hydrocarbons Halogens, chromium trioxide, peroxides.
Mercury (Hg) and its salts Acetylene, hydrogen, ammonia.
Magnesium (Mg) Carbon dioxide, carbon tetrachloride, other chlorinated hydrocarbons, water.
