Student awards
Do you know a student who deserves an award?
You can now nominate students for one of SDU’s two student awards, which will be presented at SDU’s Annual Celebration.
It is once again time to celebrate the students who go the extra mile – both academically and socially. Nominations are now open for SDU’s Study Environment Award, which recognizes students who have made a special contribution to the study environment, as well as for the Master’s Thesis Award, which is an academic prize based on the final master's thesis.
The awards were introduced last year by SDU’s management to highlight the importance of students’ engagement – academically as well as socially – and to give it visibility across the organization. The winners of the two awards become representatives of the many talented, dedicated, and ambitious students who deserve recognition.
Last year’s winners of the student awards
Last year, a total of 130 students were nominated for the Study Environment Award and 41 students for the Master’s Thesis Award.
The Study Environment Award was presented to Emilie Zielke for her numerous initiatives that strengthened an engaged and inclusive study environment in Esbjerg.
The Master’s Thesis Award was given to Nadia Meincke Egedal from the Faculty of Science for a well‑written master’s thesis that made significant research contributions in the field of severe obesity.
You can nominate a winner
Both students and staff can nominate candidates for the Study Environment Award, and both individuals and groups may be nominated. If you are a thesis supervisor, you also have the opportunity to nominate a thesis for the Master’s Thesis Award.
- Winner of the Study Environment Award: Up to DKK 5,000 per student as well as DKK 50,000 to further develop initiatives that strengthen the study environment.
- Winner of the Master’s Thesis Award: DKK 25,000.
