New facilities

It is now possible to do interviews for TV or radio at SDU

SDU now has the facilities to broadcast live to the Danish and international press in high quality from Campus Odense. This means that an interview can be conducted at the University, making it easier for both the media and the expert being interviewed.

SDU employees can now skip the trip to a TV2 or DR studio for an interview. The interview can be broadcast from the main campus and between lectures or meetings. On top of this, the quality is significantly better than if you’re broadcast from your own computer or smartphone.

For TV:

Studio 1 – located in the ‘Cube’ right by ‘Agora’ and Entrance S – is connected to TV2 and DR’s TV signal, and the radio equipment has been tested on DR’s channels and Radio 4. If you are to be featured in an international media outlet, please contact SDU in a timely manner to help ensure it can be arranged.

If an SDU employee is going on TV, the process is as follows:

  • Book Karsten Prinds or Nis Boye Rasmussen – the sooner the better.
  • They will set up camera, microphone and screen (we have a number of backgrounds showing various SDU locations).
  • The person being broadcast receives an audio feed from the TV studio in an earpiece.
  • Karsten or Nis will be in touch with the media company technicians during the broadcast.

For radio:

The radio interviews are conducted via the ‘Tieline’ app, which is downloaded to a phone in the studio. If you have done a phone-in interview for radio before, you may be familiar with the system.

If an SDU employee is going on the radio, the process is as follows:

  • Book Karsten Prinds or Nis Boye Rasmussen – the sooner the better.
  • They will set up microphones and mixing console.
  • The person(s) to be aired receives an audio feed from the studio in a headset.
  • Karsten or Nis will be in touch with the media company technicians during the broadcast.

So far, the service is only available at Campus Odense, but the solution can be established elsewhere if the need arises.
