Analysis

Week 43 - Ongoing information about the analysis of the study administration

In this week's news, you can read about the background and status of the analysis.

Background for the analysis

The analysis has been initiated to enable SDU to best meet anticipated challenges in the coming years. These include political reforms of university admissions and programmes offered across the whole country (regionalisation), internationalisation, fewer young people applying to SDU, and a new study administration system is on the way.

One example of an area where SDU needs to adapt is further and continuing education: SDU expects to see a lower intake of full-time students and wants to increase the intake of part-time students who are seeking further and continuing education. Part-time students may have different requirements and needs than full-time students, and this new balance will require something different from SDU and SDU’s study administration. In this respect, the analysis of the study administration can reveal what needs to be adapted.

Status of the analysis

The consultancy Carve is in the process of identifying which managers would be relevant for them to engage in dialogue with in relation to the analysis. Carve has reviewed a quantity of written material regarding SDU’s study administration and needs input from various managers at SDU to get a complete overview of the study administration. From here, Carve can begin to prepare recommendations for what SDU’s study administration should be able to do in the future.

Carve expects to talk to relevant managers in November.
