Week 47 - Ongoing information about the analysis of the study administration

In this week’s news, you can stay updated on the status of the mapping and visioning process.

Status of the mapping track

Carve continues its series of interviews with managers responsible for study administrative tasks. This will involve almost 30 managers from the faculties and the Central Administration. The vast majority of interviews will be completed by the end of November, and all interviews are expected to be completed by early December. To the extent possible, the interviews are held as in-person meetings at SDU, but some take place as online meetings.

The management interviews are a central contribution to the more extensive overview of SDU’s educational administration, contributing with, not least, the challenges encountered and possible improvements that can be made. The mapping of study administrative tasks is an important basis for developing a vision.

Status of the vision track

This week, a meeting was held between the advisory group and Carve. The participants worked on the framework conditions under which SDU’s educational administration operates. Some framework conditions cut across the university sector, while others are specific to SDU. Based on the input of the advisory group, Carve is working on formulating a vision for what SDU’s educational administration should be able to do in 3-5 years.

The vision is based on changes happening at the University in relation to political reforms (e.g. regionalisation, new admissions system), economic changes (e.g. increased focus on further and continuing education), socio-demographic shifts (e.g. decreasing youth cohorts) and new technologies (e.g. new study information system).
