Analysis

Week 48 - Ongoing information about the analysis of the study administration

In this week’s news, you can stay updated on the status of the mapping and visioning process.

Status of the mapping track

Carve continues its series of interviews with managers responsible for student administrative tasks. By the end of this week, 21 interview sessions will have been conducted in the Central Administration, at faculties and at all campuses. The interviews have been frank and participants were willing to give the facts, which is of great benefit to the analysis. Thank you for your contributions!

The steering committee has decided that interviews will also be conducted with managers at two departments per faculty, as well as with faculty heads of communications, who have important tasks in terms of recruiting new students. This will contribute to a more complete picture of SDU’s educational administrative tasks.

Although the mapping is progressing well, the additional interview sessions will delay the completion of the analysis, which is now expected to be ready by mid-January.

Status of the vision track

Carve is also working on developing a vision for what SDU’s educational administration should be able to do in 3-5 years.

The vision is based on changes happening at the University in relation to political reforms (e.g. regionalisation, new admissions system), economic changes (e.g. increased focus on further and continuing education), socio-demographic shifts (e.g. decreasing youth cohorts) and new technologies (e.g. new study information system).
