The demand for analyses and management information has grown significantly in recent years. SDU’s Analysis Portal is a direct response to this. The portal brings together and presents key analyses and metrics on education, research and international rankings in one shared environment.

Shared data supports a shared understanding

When managers and staff can find the same, up-to-date figures in one place, it reduces uncertainty and avoids debates about methods. The Analysis Portal supports the “single source of truth” principle, which is well established in public sector management. In a broader perspective, the Analysis Portal is not just a technical platform for delivering analytics efficiently. It is also an organisational infrastructure that supports shared insight and more coherent decision-making, helping to advance the university’s strategic development.

A robust solution with a focus on data quality

The Analysis Portal is built on well-consolidated datasets and proven, transparent technologies for producing and presenting web reports. The technology has been chosen for its strengths in analysis, reproducibility and documentation, which is essential when data is used to support management decision-making.

SDU’s Analysis Portal went live on 1 November 2021. It now includes around 200 web reports and receives more than 60,000 visits each year. SDU Analytics continuously works to improve data quality and performance. This also includes simplifying and standardising report views — not as a purely technical exercise, but as a shared professional and managerial effort where definitions and interpretations are made explicit.

Analysis Portal FAQ

  • To access SDU’s Analysis Portal, you must be connected to SDU’s network as an employee, in line with SDU’s IT security requirements. Please check that the Cisco client on your computer has an active VPN connection to SDU’s network.

    There may be situations where CRM removes a licence. In those cases, you will not be able to access https://kvaser.analytics.sdu.dk/ even if your VPN connection is active. Once you have checked that the VPN connection is active, write to dataadgang@sdu.dk and we will restore your licence.

  • At kvaser.analytics.sdu.dk, all employees can access SDU’s Analysis Portal.

    Employees with one of the 500 licences can access web reports with advanced features and create their own detailed views. Employees without a licence can access a selection of predefined, simpler web reports, as well as Excel files and analysis notes in PDF format.

    If you would like a licence for SDU’s Analysis Portal, please email dataadgang@sdu.dk to discuss the options.

  • If you have not been assigned a user licence for SDU’s Analysis Portal, you can still access some information. We are continuously expanding the range of information that does not require a licence.

    Materials that are available without a licence are hosted within SDU’s Analysis Portal, so users with a licence can access the same content. Whether a licence is required depends only on the format of the material.

  • Some web reports are access restricted, either due to sensitivity or due to the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

    If you want access to a restricted web report, please write to dataadgang@sdu.dk with your line manager in cc and state the purpose of the requested access.

  • For security reasons, you must be logged in to SDU’s network as an employee to access SDU’s Analysis Portal.

    Check that your Cisco client on your computer has activated the VPN connection to SDU's network.Situations may arise where CRM removes a licence.

  • SDU Analytics shares an overview of the current licence allocation with selected people in the main areas to ensure that the relevant employees have access.
