Campuses at sdu.dk

Purpose

The purpose of the city pages on sdu.dk is to gather completely city-specific information for the target groups. A common navigation structure has been established for the city pages, which provides a better connection between city pages and the overall web structure.

Audience

Based on SDU's channel strategy that sdu.dk must target external stakeholders, the target group for content on the city pages will be external partners, foundations, potential students, other educational institutions, municipalities, etc.
This means that content that has the character of being internal must be posted on SDUnet, which is a platform for news, information, etc., for internal employees. The responsible editor for the city page may at any time remove, or ask content providers to move content from the platform,
if it does not agree with SDU's online strategy.
For example, information about degree programs must be placed under the column 'Education', where the faculties describe their respective degree programs and which campus city can be mentioned in which the degree program can be studied.

Location

The menu item 'SDU Campuses' is located under the column 'About SDU' and leads to a level 2 page maintained by SDU Communications. The city pages are named 'SDU {city name}'.

Contents

The content must reflect the target group for the campus town with relevant information, which may differ from campus to campus. There must, however, be basic content on the campus city page, which as a starting point should be established with global content if it will be relevant to use it in more places and in more
platforms i.a. below.

  •  Institutes
  •  Directory
  •  Facilities
  • Student life
  • Canteen
  • Contact

The content must comply with the framework for structure, SDU Design guide and target group.

The purpose of establishing the above content as global is that the information can be used across SDU's platforms.

Responsible editor

The campus coordinator will be the responsible editor, with the exception of Campus Copenhagen, where it will be a communication employee from SIF, who has overall day-to-day responsibility for ensuring the maintenance and development of the own city page. This means that the editor is tasked with ensuring updated content and preparing content relevant to the target group on front page and subpages, where the responsibility does not lie with other content suppliers such as Technical Service.

City pages on sdu.dk

Content for which the responsible editor must be responsible can, among other things, be information about campus news that is relevant to external partners, collaboration opportunities, student life and events.

The editor himself is responsible for implementing and maintaining content in Sitecore.

  • Esbjerg – Sara Christine Nielsen
  • Kolding – Anne Lieberg
  • Slagelse - Kirsten Lambert
  •  Sønderborg – Lene Hviid Petersen
  • Odense – SDUK, Web
  • Copenhagen – Birgitte Hornhaver, Health Sciences, SIF

The responsible editor must review content on the city page at least once a year, so that a continuous review of the content is ensured.

The review, which should preferably be carried out more often than once a year, means that all pages are checked for outdated content or whether new content is needed.

Content providers

The city pages will have content produced by others than the responsible editor, i.e. by so-called content suppliers. Content suppliers for the city pages on sdu.dk will, among other things, be the following departments.

  • Technical service
  • Study service
  • SDU RIO

Content providers are responsible for building, producing content and maintaining global components/pages that are used on the city pages, so that information is always up to date.

The responsible editor of the city pages must contact the content suppliers at any time and ask them to ensure the correctness of the content if it is out of date.

Language on the city pages

All city pages on sdu.dk must be available in both Danish and English. The language must be easy to read for the target group. This also means that internal abbreviations must not be written, and texts must not be too heavy. Language and information must be written in an outside-in perspective.

Construction and structure

The front of the city page is basically divided into 6 parts/bands respectively. If part 6 is selected, it is important that the information under part element 6 can be found on the page in part 5.

See the city pages on sdu.dk here or see an image example of the page in the PDF version of the guideline.

Download the guideline as a PDF here.

Part 1

Must consist of HeroBanner with campus image and short presentation text for the campus.

Part 2

Three information components with icon, underlined heading/area, heading, teaser and links to content pages (information for the 3 largest target groups) e.g. Cooperation, Education, research, student life.

Component: Extended Link List Section - Row444 – Extended Link List

Cooperation

Description of relevant collaborations in the campus city with, for example, companies, organizations and colleges.

Education

Description and short teaser, primarily aimed at potential students, about which programs you can study at the individual campus.

The sub-pages listing education programs in the individual city draw information from a search list with links from markings associated with the respective city. It is the faculties who ensure that the education pages are marked correctly so that they appear on the list.

Research

Contains a list of institutes and centers present in the campus city. Before the list, an introductory text or a special research focus for the city can be written.

The content display of the list itself is controlled decentralized by the web coordinators at the faculties, in relation to which departments and centers they wish to display.

Student life

The page contains a description of student life and the environment in the campus city, what the city can offer the students, including more facts about housing conditions and where you can meet us (meet us). At the same time, links can be made to relevant student city websites.

Part 3 – wide

Single broad information component with headline, teaser and images with link to page about fourth largest focus area for the campus city itself.

Component: Related Articles Container – Related Content – RelatedArticle

Part 3 – high

High component can be selected so that two components are inserted in the width instead of one, for example part 3 high and part 4 high.

Component selection: News Vertical List + Small Related Boxes Vertical List

If a news component is chosen on the city page for sdu.dk, it is important to only include externally targeted news in this, so that it corresponds to the target group for the city page.

Part 4 – wide

Single wide teaser component with image or icon, headline, teaser and link to content page.

Component: Related Articles Container – Related Content – RelatedArticle

Part 4 – high

Single tall component with space for 2 headlines, teaser and link to content pages, this component is in extension/adjacent to part 3 – tall. (shown below).

Component combination: News Vertical List + Small Related Boxes Vertical List.

Part 5

Cash register with links to e.g. contact information, facilities, preparedness, canteen or anything else relevant to the target group in the campus city.

Component: Cassogram

Facilities

Facilities is one of the areas where the content is retrieved from global content/components maintained by Technical Service. There must therefore be coordination between the byside editor and the web editor from Technical Service regarding relevant content.

Preparedness

Content under contingency is maintained by Technical Service, coordination therefore takes place in collaboration between the byside editor and the web editor for Technical Service. Content is established as global content/components.

The canteen

Information about the canteen is maintained by the city page editor, who coordinates content with the canteen on the individual campus.

Part 6

Link section with links to other relevant things for the campus city. Here you can e.g. also links to the Library, the directory and more.
Component: Link Section.
