Strategy for continuous improvement
The development strategy for continuous improvement was adopted by the executive board in August 2022 and in interaction with SDU's strategy, SDU towards 2030, will free up time for the university's core tasks: research, teaching and knowledge collaboration.
Three guiding principles guide our efforts
Creating improvements is about removing the unnecessary, reducing complexity and focusing on what creates value for students, staff and SDU as a whole.
User focus
Coherence
Coherent administrative systems and processes should improve efficiency so that user needs are met without hassle, doubt or detours.
Efficiency
Administrative support must be efficient and agile. And driven by a culture, management and organisation that continuously optimises tasks and workflows to create value and eliminate waste.
How do we improve?
We work to create a culture of continuous improvement where a common language and approach paves the way for improvement work, and where optimisation efforts and projects are used to streamline processes and anchor the culture.
Continuous improvement is created by and with those closest to the processes. We assemble the right team, involving everyday specialists in the processes to identify problems and develop and test solutions that lead to significant improvements.
Examples of improvements
- Simpler self-service systems such as travel reimbursement, making it more attractive and user-friendly.
- Better utilisation of existing facilities and classrooms for all faculties.
- Structured salary negotiation process for self-negotiators that reduces waiting time and increases satisfaction.
