IMADA Student Talks

IMADA Student Talks is a student forum created by students at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. It is a forum for students to share their ideas and inspire each other - a community where ideas are shared and grow.

Don't miss this opportunity to network and be inspired with - and by - your fellow students.

Mikkel Juul Vestergaard and Torin Arunai Gundel-Reimer will each give a talk lasting approximately 20 – 25 minutes.

This is the headline/subject of Mikkel’s talk: “Rings exist in many different shapes and sizes, and we use them rigorously worldwide. Mathematical rings, in particular, can be found in various forms, and specifically, polynomial rings have proven particularly useful in algebraic attacks on cryptographic systems such as AES, Rainbow, and Hamsi-256. Come by and learn more about modern approaches to solving systems of polynomials and how we may implement such solvers in code.”

The headline/subject of Torin’s talk is: "The topic is combinatorics, and the presentation is based on my bachelor's project entitled "Asymptotics for coefficients of generating functions". The presentation will introduce generating functions and methods for finding them. In addition, we will see how they can be used to study the asymptotic behavior of combinatorial structures, and for example estimate how many binary trees exist with a billion nodes."

The IMADA Student Talks are “students talking to fellow students“ but basically everybody is welcome - and we’ve ordered cake 😉.
