Tips to pass on to your students
- Learn from a good article. Once you have found a relevant article, take a look at its Subject Terms. They show you which terms the database uses to describe the topic and can help you identify new and more precise search terms.
- Search for several word variants at once. Add an asterisk to the stem of a word. For example, educat* can retrieve education, educational and educator.
- Build your search using concepts and synonyms. Combine synonyms with OR and different concepts with AND. Use quotation marks for fixed phrases, for example: ("climate change" OR "global warming") AND education.
