Responsible conduct of research
Responsible conduct of research is a core value upheld and practiced across SDU. This is supported by resources and services such as RCR courses and HR policies and practices.
Research ethics reviews and approvals
SDU’s Research Ethics Committee supports researchers in complying with the highest research ethics standards by providing research ethics approvals based on a thorough review of projects. SDU’s Research Ethics Committee complements, but does not replace, the national and regional committees on health research ethics.
Legal and compliance
Compliance with relevant legislation and international standards is a given, just as in many cases there may be specific funding conditions or similar compliance requirements that must be taken into account. SDU has a range of policies, practices, and services that help researchers with legality checks and other compliance matters.
National and international legislation, guidelines and organizations
SDU complies with all relevant national and international legislation and guidelines and adapts its policies and practices in accordance with recognised good practice and with rules, recommendations, and guidelines from relevant stakeholders, such as those found in the non-exhaustive list below.
Open science and research data
SDU commits to the advancement of science and the wide dissemination of knowledge to the benefit of society by adopting practices on open, reliable, reproducible, accountable, and responsible research, following the principle of ‘as open as possible, as closed as necessary’.
Research assessment
SDU advances responsible research assessment by promoting fair, transparent and meaningful evaluation practices aligned with HR Excellence and the CoARA principles, supporting a culture where quality, integrity and diverse research contributions are recognised.
