The purpose of the Study Board for Information and Communication Studies is to ensure quality, relevance, and coherence in education and teaching through collaboration between students and teachers.

The Purpose of the Study Board

The purpose of the study board is to ensure quality, relevance, and coherence in education and teaching.

The board is composed of elected representatives of teachers and students from Information and Communication Studies and it contributes to the collective development of the educational programs.

The Study Board for Information and Communication Studies oversees the bachelor's programs in Digital Design, Interaction Studies and IT; Library IT and Communication and International Business Communication (IVK), as well as the master's programs in Web Communication, Web Communication Design, and IT - Product Design (ITPD).

  • The Study Board's duties include development, quality assurance, and continuous adaptation of the educational programs. The Board is responsible for following up on educational as well as course evaluations and contributes to ensuring that the programs are planned and conducted in accordance with the relevant rules and academic goals.

    The Study Board prepares proposals for curricula and amendments thereto and approves plans for teaching, exams, and other forms of assessment included in the examination process.

    Furthermore, the Study Board consider applications for credit transfers, including preapprovals, as well as applications for exemptions. The Study Board also functions as an advisory body in matters of importance to education and teaching.

Submitting an Application to the Study Board

Guidelines for applications on and applicable deadlines for exemptions and credit transfers can be found on your study site at mitsdu. The application deadline is 7 days before a study board meeting.

Expected Response Time
The study board strives to respond to applications and inquiries no later than 14 days after a meeting.
