Change in MFA policy for all employees at SDU

By SDU IT, , 8/3/2023

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the security of our IT systems, SDU IT has implemented changes to the MFA policy.

Moving forward, the most secure MFA validation method that you have registered will be automatically selected. This means that when accessing the network and important systems, you may be prompted to use the most secure authentication method available in certain situations.

You don't need to take any action. The system will automatically choose the most secure MFA validation method based on previous registrations. It will be possible to select a different validation if multiple validation methods are registered.

This update will significantly enhance security and reduce the risk of unauthorized access to our systems. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the MFA policy to ensure that our security standards are maintained at the highest level.

Preferred MFA validation methods in the system (most secure on top):

Certificate-based (YubiKey and Windows Hello)
Microsoft Authenticator
Call to registered phone number
SMS code to registered phone number
If you have any questions or concerns, the Servicedesk is ready to assist you.

We appreciate your understanding as we continue to protect our university data and digital resources.
