Release quarantined emails yourself

Quarantined emails have been identified as potentially risky to our IT security by our email security filters. We have implemented a solution that allows you to release emails trapped in quarantine yourself.

SDU IT  wants to inform you about a technical problem that some of you may have already become familiar with. These are emails that have been caught quarantined by our advanced security filters.

Why does this happen?

Quarantined emails have been identified risky to our IT security by our email security filters. This can be due to various factors, such as suspicious email attachments, unknown senders, or unidentified links. These security filters are created to protect our university network from malware, phishing and other digital threats.

What can you do if your email is caught in quarantine?

Good news! We have implemented a solution that allows you to release emails trapped in quarantine yourself. Follow the steps below if you want to do this.

1. Check your mailbox

When an email is caught in quarantine, you will receive a message in your inbox with information. The email contains instructions as well as a link to release the quarantined email.

2. Release the email

Open the mail and follow the instructions to release the email. If you do this, your email will immediately be sent back to your regular inbox.

What does SDU IT do?

We continuously work to optimize our security actions as well as minimize the number of legitimate emails that end up in quarantine. This includes updates to our security filters, training users about email security, and work with email service providers. We do all this to develop and improve our email authentication systems.

We understand that it can be annoying when useful emails get caught in quarantine, but we are working hard to make the process more easily for you.

Best regards
