In the future, meeting rooms must be booked directly in Outlook or by Teams

At SDU, we have previously used RessourceCentral in connection with booking meeting rooms. This solution will be replaced by the applications in Outlook and Teams.

When rooms are booked directly in Outlook, there is no need to install additional products, which means that all SDU computers with Outlook can book a meeting room. Another benefit is that you also have the option to book a meeting room from Outlook on your smartphone when you are on the go.

When you book directly in Outlook, the procedure is different from the one you know from RessourceCentral. For example, you won't be able to see a picture of the selected rooms. You can access the guide for booking meeting rooms in SDU IT's Guidance universe at SDUnet. Here you just type 'book' in the search bar, and the instructions will appear. In addition, you can also find the instructions manually under 'Office products'.

Already now you’re able to book meeting rooms through Outlook. All rooms in Nyt SUND will only be available in Outlook. SDU's cars are also only available in Outlook now. Other rooms and bookable resources are also moved to Outlook.

These actions means that you for a period of time can see both meeting rooms in Outlook and RessourceCentral. Where you choose to book doesn't matter because both programs works on the same resources. When you book a meeting room, you will receive an 'accepted'-receipt. If your chosen meeting room is occupied, you will receive a 'declined'-receipt.

SDU IT is still in the process of fine adjustment the entire structure for an easier and more manageable overview of rooms and other offered resources. For this reason, we also have the rights to change the descriptions.

We are furthermore working on a booking overview that can be displayed for info screens. These are expected to be activated by the end of the year.

RessourceCentral will finally be phased out no later than spring 2024.
