The
Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) invites to a strategic session on the
European Research Council (ERC), focusing on institutional culture, leadership, and long-term pathways to ERC success. With
Jesper Svejstrup, world-renowned biochemist and former Vice-President for Life Sciences at the European Research Council, this event will focus on how universities can strengthen their long-term success with ERC funding by cultivating strong research environments and an institutional culture that supports curiosity-driven, frontier research. The discussion will address current trends and priorities within the ERC, the role of academic leadership in shaping research cultures, and how institutions like SDU can position themselves strategically in an increasingly competitive European research landscape. The session also features dialogue with Marianne Holmer, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Susanne Mandrup, DIAS Chair and internationally recognized researcher, offering perspectives from both research leadership and academic excellence.
