Who we are

We work to attract, retain and support students – before, during and after admission

We have extensive knowledge of young people’s needs, behaviour and decision-making processes, which forms the foundation of our work. A cornerstone is our Student Counselling Service, where we advise approximately 3,000 humanities students each year on their options throughout their studies. Our advisors are well-versed in the rules, frameworks and procedures that apply to students, and they use this expertise to provide counselling that supports well-being and motivates  successful completion.

In addition to individual counselling, we carry out targeted initiatives that strengthen recruitment, retention and well-being. These include the development of study-related communities, initiatives that promote engagement in student life and measures that help students navigate their choices and opportunities throughout their academic journey.

A key focus area is recruitment, where we work strategically to ensure optimal enrolment in the humanities programmes. Our aim is to attract young people who see a meaningful future in a humanities education, and to ensure that as many as possible within the target group have the opportunity to make an informed decision about choosing SDU Humanities.

Among other things, we offer:
  • Student counselling that helps students navigate their educational options and rules – and encourages thoughtful decision-making
  • Targeted initiatives that prevent dropout and strengthen student engagement, such as How to Uni and Ready for Master’s
  • Bridge-building activities and collaboration with upper secondary schools and youth education institutions
  • Development and execution of recruitment campaigns
  • Consultation on counselling materials and communication aimed at students
Who we are
We support digital visibility and a well-functioning digital infrastructure

We help ensure that information reaches the right digital channels  and that the faculty's web presence and digital solutions support both user needs and organisational goals.

We monitor, update and support the faculty's websites on SDU.dk, MitSDU and SDUnet,  and we lead targeted initiatives that promote digitalisation and streamline workflows and processes across the faculty. This includes implementation of new central IT systems at the faculty, development of existing solutions and other digitalisation efforts  including digital skills development which provides the faculty's employees with the necessary prerequisites to work effectively and safely with digital tools.

Among other things, we offer:
  • Technical guidance and advice on web structure, components, templates and content development for sdu.dk, mitsdu.dk and SDUnet
  • Web support and ongoing maintenance of the faculty's web content – including support for the faculty's content editors
  • Support and counselling in the use of the faculty's digital solutions and SDU's IT systems and platforms – with a focus on how the systems are applied within the Faculty of Humanities
  • Superuser development and facilitation for study administration systems and core M365 applications
