New chair to lead equality efforts at the Faculty of Health Sciences
From 1 October, the Faculty of Health Sciences’ Equality Committee (LiU) will have a new chair. Associate Professor Christina Møller Andreasen from the Department of Clinical Research will take over the role and lead the faculty’s work on equality, diversity and inclusion for the next two years.
Christina Møller Andreasen is already familiar with LiU as a member of the committee. As chair, she will work with the other members to set the direction for its activities. She will also become a member of SDU’s central equality committee.
- I’m very much looking forward to taking on the role. I already know LiU and have seen the tremendous commitment that goes into its work. I’m therefore both grateful for the trust placed in me and very aware of the responsibility that comes with taking the chair. Equality and diversity are important priorities for the Faculty of Health Sciences, and I look forward to helping move this work forward, says Christina Møller Andreasen.
Turning ambitions into tangible progress
The Faculty of Health Sciences’ Equality Committee works to create equal opportunities for different talents and perspectives to contribute to and develop the faculty. Among other things, the committee works to raise awareness of the structures and frameworks that affect equal opportunities at the Faculty of Health Sciences.
As the new chair, Christina Møller Andreasen will build on the initiatives already under way. Together with the committee, she will also explore where LiU can further strengthen its efforts.
- Of course, we need to build on the good initiatives that are already in place, but we must also keep asking ourselves where we can do more. For me, it’s important that equality, diversity and inclusion are not just things we talk about, but are reflected in the way we work and develop the Faculty of Health Sciences. I hope that LiU can help drive tangible progress and keep these issues in focus across the faculty, she says.

Christina Møller Andreasen succeeds Mette Elmose Andersen, who has until now chaired the Faculty of Health Sciences’ Equality Committee.
