Noisy building work in the HEALTH building in week 42: Work from home if possible

The establishment of the new dentistry and dental hygiene programmes at SDU is now entering a phase involving noisy building work in the HEALTH building. The work will begin during the autumn break in week 42 and continue until 20 December 2026. Staff may be particularly affected by noise and vibrations during week 42.

By SUND Kommunikation, 10/8/2026

On Monday 12 October, work will begin in the unfinished space on the lower ground floor beneath U300 and U301. This will include cutting openings in the façade facing the light rail.

Most noise expected in week 42

To minimise the overall period of noise disruption, as much of the noisy work as possible will be carried out during the autumn break in week 42.

During week 42, cutting work will take place between 7.00 am and 4.00 pm. Staff working in the HEALTH building are therefore encouraged to:

  • work from home during week 42 if their duties allow
  • schedule experiments and other laboratory work that may be affected by significant noise and vibrations outside week 42, where possible.

Evening cutting work in weeks 43–51

From week 43 through to week 51, cutting work is scheduled to continue in the evenings, provisionally between 6.00 pm and midnight. The work is expected to be completed by 20 December 2026.

Stay updated on operational disruptions

Further details about the cutting work scheduled for weeks 42–51 will be published later this week via SDU's operational status updates and the operational status updates for the Animal Facility/BML.
