As a biology student at SDU, one is automatically a member of the Biology Student Council. The council's chairperson is the daily leader of the council and is elected once a year at the ordinary general assembly. At this meeting, student representatives are also elected to the councils and committees at the Department of Biology.

The chairperson of the council calls together representatives from each year group for 2-3 meetings per semester. If there are topics to discuss, one can send an email to the chairperson or contact the year group representative. The year group representatives also regularly ask their year group if there are any issues to raise.

The chairperson of the council is also responsible for the student room and manages communication between the Department of Biology and the students.
