Change of workplace

All professors and associate professors who have been employed at the Faculty of Science in one of these positions for at least three years can apply for a change of workplace.

In addition to this group, it is assumed that assistant professors have the opportunity for at least six months’ leave during the assistant professor period.

  • A change of workplace is granted for a stay at amother research or teaching institution. It can also be granted for a stay at a company if the work there involves subjects covered by the university's mission statement. Exceptionally, the dean can grant a change of workplace even if the stay is not at another institution for the entire period.
  • A change of workplace is granted for one or two semesters.
  • During the period of the change of workplace, the employee receives their salary as usual from SDU. The employee is exempt from all teaching during this period.
  • Applications for a change of workplace can be made for up to one semester every three years or for two semesters every six years. However, there is no guarantee that leave will be granted, even if this criterion is met.

Application for change of workplace

The submitted form serves both as an application form for the grant of a change of workplace and as approval that the teaching obligation can be met at the department.

The head of department must, therefore, be aware that by signing, they recommend that the employee be granted a change of workplace and confirm that it is possible to carry out the necessary teaching at the department with the given compensation.

Application for change of workplace for one semester should be sent to the head of department.

Application for change of workplace for two semesters should be sent to the Science Faculty Administration.
