Equipment for digital meetings at the Department

The department has a Meeting Owl with built-in camera, microphone, and speaker. This solution is mobile and best for smaller hybrid meetings (under 10 on-site participants). The advantage is that the meeting can simply be run via a computer, allowing the use of any meeting platform (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).

In addition, the department has a Poly Studio USB camera with built-in microphone and speaker, as well as voice tracking, so the camera follows the person speaking. The system can handle two screens and is fully integrated with Microsoft Teams, but can also run Zoom via a browser. The department has chosen to mount it on a trolley, but it can also be fixed in a meeting room. The system accommodates up to 30 participants.

At the University of Southern Denmark, there is generally no fixed technical equipment for hybrid meetings in meeting rooms that are bookable by all employees.

For hybrid teaching, auditoriums U1, U45, U55, U110, and O100 are all equipped with a so-called Wall-E, which is a stand on wheels with a camera, microphone, and associated audio equipment. Wall-E can also be used in other classrooms, but must be booked in advance in that case.

Alternatively, a Mini Wall-E can be booked, which has two microphones, making it suitable for use in PhD defenses.

Chairing and participating in digital meetings

Do you need guidance on digital meetings either as the chair of the meeting or as a participant?

A meeting consists of several stages: Before - During - After. In each phase, the chair of the meeting and the meeting participants must do something actively for the meeting to be successful.
