On 4 September, the Executive Board discussed the future organisation of SDU's study administration and approved that the liaison committee can now consider proposals for the future organisation of SDU's study administration tasks.
Next steps
A confidentiality phase will now begin, involving management, the Central Liaison Committee, local liaison committees and other councils and committees.
An overall announcement on the organisation of the study administration is expected at the end of September, when the process is completed.
The background to the work
As previously described, SDU is working to develop a more coherent and efficient study administration across the university.
The goal is to better support students and lecturers – and to prepare the organisation to implement a new student information system.
The initiative will strengthen collaboration on study administration across departments, faculties and the Central Administration. It will also create a clearer framework for employees working with the same type of tasks.
This means that employees will to a greater extent be part of strong interdisciplinary communities where there are better opportunities for sparring and development.
For employees working with educational administration tasks – both in departments, faculties and the Central Administration – this may mean changes in tasks, roles or location.
However, it is important to emphasise that no one should be concerned about their employment at SDU because of the decision.
Employee engagement is key
– The knowledge, experience and commitment of our employees are crucial to our success in creating a stronger study administration at SDU. Our ambition is to build an organisation that provides professional robustness and the opportunity for professional sparring daily, as well as a clearer and more coherent service for students and lecturers, says University Director and project owner Thomas Buchvald Vind.
