Mobile phones included in annual siren test

This year, in connection with the annual national siren test, a text message will also be sent to newer phones. The test will cause your phone to emit a loud sound at 12:00, and you will be able to read on your phone how to respond.

The siren is an important part of national emergency preparedness as it alerts the public to acute disasters and accidents that can be particularly severe.
