New report provides inspiration for SDU’s ongoing climate action

A new SDU report from the FORWARD Task Force provides a range of practical tools and recommendations designed to inspire the university’s ongoing work on its green transition.

How can we ensure that climate initiatives are effective, fair and realistic in everyday life? This question has been central to SDU’s FORWARD Task Force, which, for the first time, has brought together researchers and administrative staff to examine the opportunities and challenges of the university’s green transition.

The findings have now been compiled into a report which, drawing on the experiences and perspectives of researchers, staff, students and external partners, provides concrete recommendations for work on areas such as air travel, digital carbon footprints and circular resource use.

The report also presents a range of practical tools designed to support dialogue, decision-making and the implementation of climate initiatives locally at the university. The aim is to make it easier to translate climate targets into actions that make sense in day-to-day practice.

To contribute to the forthcoming climate plan

The FORWARD report is neither a new policy nor an action plan, but is intended to serve as inspiration and a knowledge base for SDU’s ongoing climate efforts.

The findings have already been presented to the university’s climate ambassadors, and the report’s recommendations may also be incorporated into the work on SDU’s forthcoming Climate Plan 3.0, which will cover the period 2028–2030 and be drawn up during 2027.

The report is available to all interested staff and students seeking inspiration to work on climate initiatives at SDU.
