Frederik Waage Reappointed as chairman to the Election Committee – New Members Sought
SDU’s seasoned law professor Frederik Waage will continue in his role as Chair of SDU’s Election Committee for the next three years. At the same time, there are vacant positions in the committee that interested colleagues are encouraged to explore further.
The Rector has reappointed Professor with Special Responsibilities (MSO) Frederik Waage as chairman of SDU’s Election Committee for a new three-year term. The VIP and TAP members of the Election Committee are appointed for three-year periods and may be reappointed.
The Election Committee consists of representatives of the University’s academic staff (VIP), technical and administrative staff (TAP) and students (STUD). The Committee is responsible for planning and conducting university elections and ensuring compliance with the applicable election rules. In addition, the Committee may propose amendments to the election rules of the University of Southern Denmark for approval by the Board and considers any objections or complaints relating to elections.
The Election Committee currently has two vacant positions – one VIP position and one TAP position. Traditionally, broad representation across the University’s faculties is sought, and therefore colleagues from the Faculty of Health Sciences (SUND) and the Faculty of Science (NAT) are particularly encouraged to express their interest in contributing to the University’s democratic processes.
Serving on the Election Committee provides an opportunity to gain insight into, and help shape, the frameworks and regulations that support elections to the University Board and the University's collegial bodies.
Interested staff members are welcome to contact the Election Secretariat to learn more about the Committee’s work and to be considered for appointment by the Rector.
The 2026 SDU elections concern students only and will be called on Friday, 11 September 2026.
