Henrik Bindslev becomes campus dean at SDU Vejle

Dean Henrik Bindslev will take on the role of campus dean for SDU Vejle. He will work closely with Dean Marianne Holmer until next summer, when Marianne Holmer will take over as Campus Dean when the first students start at the university's new campus.

In September 2026, the first class of SDU students will begin at the campus in Vejle, but SDU is already recruiting the first employees to ensure the optimal framework for conducting research and education/education programme/programme/course of study of the highest calibre.

The first researchers had their first day of work in August, and now a senior manager has been appointed in the form of Henrik Bindslev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He will be campus dean during the construction phase of SDU Vejle until next summer. From here, Marianne Holmer, Dean of the Faculty of Science, will be the future campus dean.

- As campus dean, Henrik Bindslev has played a key role in the development of the campus in Sønderborg, where he has helped create strong links between the university and the local business community. His experience from Sønderborg is highly relevant in the establishment of SDU Vejle. I am very pleased and confident that he will now bring this insight into play so that our new campus will have the best conditions to fulfil its ambitions to become a key player in research and education/education/programme/course of study, says Rector Jens Ringsmose.

SDU International aims to create a strong international research and education environment in Vejle, which will be realised in a top-level setting. The university's ambition is to build a new campus building on Nordkajen in the centre of Vejle. Until a new campus is ready, SDU Vejle will be located in Spinderihallerne.
