MedTech Odense opens new funding opportunities for research-based innovation
On 22 May, MedTech Odense will open two new calls aimed at bringing ideas and projects closer to the patient treatments of the future. Employees at SDU and in the Region of Southern Denmark can apply for funding for projects in both early and more advanced stages of development.
On 22 May, MedTech Odense opens two new calls – Need & Idea and Proof & Validation – with a focus on research-based innovation in health technology.
The Need & Idea call offers up to DKK 200,000 for projects in the initial stages. The funding is intended to support the maturation of knowledge, the identification of needs and solutions, and early concept development.
The Proof & Validation call offers up to DKK 1,000,000 for the further development of ongoing projects. The focus is on bringing solutions and knowledge to a level of maturity where they are ready to be tested, demonstrated and evaluated in relevant, real-world environments.
The application deadline is 15 September 2026.
A total of up to DKK 19 million has been allocated to the two calls in 2026. The funding is expected to be distributed with DKK 5–6 million for Need & Idea and DKK 13–14 million for Proof & Validation.
