Holiday closings

Summer holiday closings in the Central Administration

Several departments in the Central Administration are either closed or have reduced staffing during the summer holidays. Extended response times should therefore be expected when contacting the individual units. For Technical Services, there are a number of practical changes regarding operations.

SDU Communications

The Language Services Unit

SDU’s Language Services Unit is closed for the summer holidays between 4 and 22 July (inclusive).

Please take this into account for your translation/proofreading needs.

Graphic Center

Graphic Center is closed for the holidays between 11-22 July (inclusive).

If you need printed matter during this period, please contact our external supplier of printed matter.

If you need help with graphic design, please contact one of our external suppliers.

Financial Service

  • Financial accounting: Closed between 18-29 July (inclusive).
  • Controller: Closed between 18-29 July (inclusive).
  • Budget: Skeleton crew between 11-29 July (inclusive).
  • Procurement and Tenders: Skeleton crew between 11-29 July (inclusive).
  • Research Support – Finance: Skeleton crew between 11-29 July (inclusive).

SDU’s staff psychologist service

SDU’s staff psychologist service will be closed for the holidays, and the staff psychologist, Pernille Reumert, will be unavailable for 3 weeks from 11–29 July. If you need psychological assistance during this period, you can either contact your own doctor or you can send an email to reumert@sdu.dk. The staff psychologist will then contact you as soon as possible after the holiday.

Technical Services

For Technical Services, the summer holiday causes a number of practical changes regarding operations.

Door opening hours:

Between 4 July 2022 and 12 August 2022 (inclusive), all exterior doors close at 4.00 p.m. Department doors on Campusvej, Odense will be closed around the clock. Outside opening hours, please use your ID card and PIN to gain access.

If you need to enter SDU outside opening hours, kindly do not let anyone without a valid ID card into the building.

Cleaning:

The frequency of cleaning will be reduced between 11-29 July (inclusive). Also, lavatories in the basement on Campusvej will be locked.

During the period, laboratories in use will still be cleaned. Lavatories will also be cleaned.

In the office areas that are in use, a light cleaning will be done (approximately once a week). As in previous years, containers have been placed in the corridors where employees can empty wastepaper bins. The bags will be removed daily.

If you are on holiday or do not use your office, please use the ‘No cleaning’ signs handed out.

You can order extra thorough cleaning of offices, conference rooms and laboratories to be carried out between 8-26 (inclusive). Thorough cleaning is therefore unavailable in July. Users must tidy up prior to the cleaning.

Postal service

Between 4 July 2022 to 5 August 2022 (inclusive), Logistics will
operate as follows at SDU Campusvej, Winsløwparken and affiliated institutions:

  • On Campusvej, letter post is handled once a day between 1.00 and 2.00 p.m. Parcels are delivered on an ongoing basis.
  • On Campusvej, post/parcels for dispatch must be handed in at the post office no later than 2.30 p.m.
  • We handle post to and from Ny TEK, J.B. Winsløwvej, OUH from 12.30 p.m. onwards.
  • Administration runs are on an as-needed basis.
  • Transport and courier shipments run normally.
  • Transport & Logistics is open between 8.00 a.m. – 2.45 p.m.
  • The central warehouse is open between 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m.
