University Director Thomas Buchvald Vind has passed away

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that University Director Thomas Buchvald Vind passed away suddenly on Saturday night.

Thomas' passing is a great loss for the University of Southern Denmark. Since 2017, Thomas has headed the university's administration and been a key part of the university's senior management team. He was deeply loyal to SDU, SDU's tasks and the people who help carry the university every day. He enjoyed great respect - both internally at SDU and in the many external relationships where he represented the university with professionalism, integrity and good judgement.

Many at the university have worked closely with Thomas and will recognise him as a well-liked, committed and dedicated leader and colleague. He met people with trust and respect and had a special ability to create calm, direction and co-operation around him. He will be missed at SDU.

During this difficult time, our thoughts are with Thomas' family and loved ones.
