Vi Kører Grønt 2025 – let's break the record again this year – updated 22 October
SDU is once again participating in Vi Kører Grønt (We Drive Green), Odense Municipality's annual campaign that focuses on green and active transport habits to and from work. The campaign takes place from 27 October to 21 November 2025 (weeks 44-47).
Updated 22 October:
Remember – We Drive Green starts on Monday 27 October.
SDU now has 224 colleagues enrolled in the app across 27 teams. As you can read below, SDU is the first organisation – besides Odense Municipality itself – to test the app.
In the municipality, 136 people have signed up for the app across 36 teams.
Sign up before Monday. You can sign up throughout the campaign, but no new teams can be created after Sunday 27 October.
Odense Municipality will visit SDU on Wednesday 19 November from 11:00-13:00. They will have a stand by the coffee machines in the administration building (close to room V4-212b-0) where they will hand out merchandise, chocolate and other goodies.
Read below about the campaign and how to use the app.
Last year we broke records
In 2024, interest was high – as many as 482 SDU employees participated and travelled a total of 167,125 green kilometres. The main prize went to IMADA, and several SDU employees won other prizes.
All campus cities can participate
As an Odense Municipality project, Vi Kører Grønt is only for companies in the municipality, but SDU has nevertheless decided that all the university's campus cities can participate in this year's edition of Vi Kører Grønt.
You can choose to use an app
SDU is participating in a pilot project where you can choose to use the Vi Kører Grønt app instead of the poster. The app, called Klimakampen, is available for download in App Store and Google Play from today, 6 October.
In advance, six areas have been created in the app – the faculties and Central Administration. Under your area, you can sign up for a team or create a new one.
The app will initially be tested on a smaller scale so that Odense Municipality and SDU can jointly assess functionality and usability before it is rolled out more widely.
SDU is the first organisation – besides Odense Municipality itself – to test the app in a pilot project. Therefore, small teething problems may arise, and we would love to hear your suggestions for improvements – write to Climate Manager Bill Busch Andersen: bban@sdu.dk.
In the app you can:
- Sign up for a team or create your own
- Track your modes of transport from day to day
- Compare your and other teams' progress at SDU – and maybe have a friendly competition to see who drives the most green kilometres
- See the CO₂ savings of your green transport choices.
If you want to be a contact person for Vi Kører Grønt 2025, create a team at your faculty or Central Administration and be prepared to answer questions about the campaign, please contact Bill Busch Andersen, bban@sdu.dk, 21 14 45 14.
How does the app work?
To get to SDU's page in the Vi Kører Grønt app, you need the activation code GRØN. If you create a team, you kan choose to use a password. Learn more about how to sign up in the app, create teams and register transport here.
Would you rather use the poster as in previous years?
If you prefer analogue, you can get a poster (or several) with space for the names of up to twenty-five employees on each poster. Each employee signs their name and marks with a pen the symbols of the days when they travel green to and from work.
If you and your department would like to participate analogue, choose a contact person and send an email to Bill Busch Andersen, bban@sdu.dk.
The poster also contains a QR code for the Climate Camp app, so you or your colleagues can also find the app here (also, see below).
What counts as green transport?
- Walking and running
- Cycling and walking
- Public transport
- Carpooling
- Electric car
- Working from home.
Prizes up for grabs
Also, this year you can win prizes. Odense Municipality will draw lots among the participating workplaces in Odense, and the main prize is cake for all participating employees in a department.
In addition, at the end of the campaign, the municipality will draw for cinema tickets for two among the participants. Each green transport day is one point for the team and one entry into the pool to win cinema tickets. The greener transport days, the greater the chance of winning.
As something new this year, SDU will also draw lots for prizes among participating teams. Unlike Odense Municipality's prizes, which only go to companies in Odense Municipality, it is of course possible for teams on all campuses to win SDU's prizes (cake for teams).
Remember – you make a difference if you participate in Vi Kører Grønt– for the climate, your health, and the community at SDU.
